A Debt Free Christian Isn't Just A Fiction!A Debt Free Christian is God's best for His people. But it only takes picking up a newspaper, looking on-line or listening to the news to recognize how debt riddled our economy has become. Currently, the U.S. National Debt Clock reads: While it appears that getting out of personal debt seems as insurmountable as getting out of the national debt, even with these challenges, know that you can be a debt free Christian. As a Christian, every area of our lives, including our financial lives, should line up wih God's purpose for our lives and within our mind, most Christians know that being in debt is not God's plan for us. Most are also familiar with Romans 13:8 which reads: Owe no man anything, but to love one another; for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law" (KJV) and, yes, as a Christian, you believe God's Word but you may be asking yourself even, how is it possible to remain or become a debt-free Christian in these economic times. After all, you reason, at this point you have prayed, pleaded, stood believing the Scriptures, tithed and still you don't seem to be getting ahead or becoming a debt free Christian. Financial debt, as related in Psalm 22:7 which reads;"...The borrower is a slave to the lender,"is, in fact a form of bondage which is a part of the world's system of finance that can easily have negative consequences in the life of a Christian as he or spends more time and energy worried about debt and where the next money is coming from more than spending time in prayer; or having increased discord in his or her marriage,as well as the potential for divorce. Clearly, this was not God's plan for His people. In fact, God desired our freedom from bondage so much so that He sent His only begotten Son to pay our debt of sin by dying on the Cross. Know that there are things that you can do to move yourself closer to being a debt free Christian if you are willing to invest the desire, discipline and time. First, believe that God wants you to get out of debt and awaken your desire and make the decision to get debt-free. Second, put God first. Ask God for instructions on how to get out of your current debts and be led by the instructions that you are given. Third, as the Bible says ...study to show thyself approved... continue to study and meditate on what God's Word has to say about debt and be willing to make changes. Fourth, continue to tithe, giving God back a portion of what He has blessed you with and, lastly, believe that God will honor your earnest attempts to eliminate your debt and praise God for cancelling your debts.
