You and God are partners for prosperity in every area of life. That's right. If you are a Believer, then God is your Covenant Partner.
Your covenant includes His promise to be with you and help you in every area of your life including your finances.
You may be faced with a business dilemma or plagued by a financial issue and not know what to do or where to turn for help.
The answer is to turn to God. He wants to direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says...
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Remember, you and God are even covenant partners for prosperity in your business dealings and your personal finances.
As a covenant partner you have the privilege to enter His Presence. In His presence is a marketing plan they didn't reveal to you in business school that can help you increase.
He'll show you what to do when faced with overwhelming debt obligations or any other problems that may seem unsolvable.
That's what He did for King Jehoshaphat and the nation of Israel when they were about to be attacked by a massive army and didn't know what to do.
2 Chronicles 20: 1
"It happened after this that the people of Moab with the people of Ammon,
and others with them besides the Ammonites,[a] came to battle against Jehoshaphat."
Have you ever been pressed by an overwhelming situation and didn't know what to do? Maybe the IRS is knocking on your door or you're struggling to meet payroll.
Or maybe you're facing foreclosure or unemployment and you don't know what you are going to do.
Well let's look at how Jehoshaphat handled their dilemma:
2 Chronicles 20:5-9...
5 Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the
LORD, before the new court,6 and said: "O LORD God of our fathers, are You not God in
heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there
not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? 7 Are You not our God, who
drove out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel, and gave it to the
descendants of Abraham Your friend forever? 8 And they dwell in it, and have built You a
sanctuary in it for Your name, saying, 9 'If disaster comes upon us-sword, judgment,
pestilence, or famine-we will stand before this temple and in Your presence (for Your name is in this temple), and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear
Pay close attention to how Jehoshaphat was seeking God. He entered God's presence. He prayed. Notice his words.
He reminded God of their covenant partnership. He called on God for help. But what I really want you to notice is that he recited the promises of Israel's covenant with God.
It was sort of like one business partner going to another and reading paragraphs from their partnership agreement concerning what was promised.
Jehoshaphat was reminding God of His promises to Israel as their Covenant Partner.
He may as well have simply said "God, pursuant to section 20 verse 9 of 2 Chronicles of our covenant,
You said if we come into Your presence and we cry out to You in a time of trouble, You will hear us and save us.
Now look at all these enemies rising up against us. We need Your help."
The same is true for you. If you're facing a financial dilemma, go to God for help. You are partners for prosperity in life.
Enter into His presence and remind Him of your covenant. "Lord You said you would meet all my needs according to your riches in Glory by Christ Jesus.
You always keep your covenant and I know You will help me now." Continue to remind Him of His Word. The Bible says that God cannot lie.
If He said it, He will do it! If He spoke it, He will bring it to pass (Isaiah 46:11).
After Jehoshaphat prayed, here's what happened next.
2 Chronicles 20:14-17...
14 Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of
Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of
the assembly. 15 And he said, "Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem,
and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the LORD to you: 'Do not be afraid nor dismayed
because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's. 16 Tomorrow go down
against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the
end of the brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel.17 You will not need to fight in this battle.
Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah
and Jerusalem!' Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD
Is with you."
The Spirit of the Lord showed up and He said "Step aside little covenant partner. I hear what you've been saying and I've seen what you've been going through.
Now your big Covenant Partner is here. Step aside and take a seat. Let me wrap this up and do what needs to be done".
2 Chronicles 20:22-25
22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of
Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.
23 For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to
utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir,
they helped to destroy one another.
24 So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the
multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped.
25 When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them
an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies,[d] and precious jewelry, which they stripped
off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the
spoil because there was so much.
So after they began to praise God, He caused their enemies to destroy themselves. Not only did God defeat their enemies, but when the battle was over everything they lost in preparation for the battle was restored and they had more than enough! They had so much wealth they couldn't carry it all away in 3 days of gathering.
I challenge you from this point on, no matter what happens, to seek God's Presence. Turn to God for help. Remember you are partners for prosperity. He will give you the answers you need. Just trust Him, He won't let you down. I guarantee it!
